Iginiit ni Schooling na hanga siya sa tagumpay ng kababayang si Lee na personal na nagturo sa kanya para sa ‘self defense’.

“When ONE Championship approached me last November, I was definitely keen to show my support for my fellow Singaporean athletes by walking alongside them. However, it was not possible due to school commitments. This time around, I definitely do not want to miss the chance to walk alongside ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee, as she defends her title against Istela Nunes. I am looking forward to the event on 26 May. It will definitely be spectacular,” pahayag ni Schooling, umukit ng kasaysayan nang gapiin si swimming icon at Olympics record holder Michael Phelps sa Rio Games.

Idedepensa ni Lee ang titulo kontra sa beteranong si Istela Nunes ng Brazil. Lumikha ng pangalan ang 20-anyos na fighter nang angkinin ang inaugural ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship kontra Mei Yamaguchi noong 2016.

Matikas niyang naidepensa ang korona kontra Jenny Huang.
