Naniniwala si Senate Minority Leader Ralph Recto na hindi na itutuloy ng administrasyon ang planong bawiin ang tax privileges ng senior citizens at persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Ayon kay Recto, tiniyak sa kanya ni Judy Taguiwalo, kalihim ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), na ilalabas na nila ang Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) ng RA 10754 sa Disyembre 1.

“It is a strong indicator that the administration’s plan to revoke certain tax-free privileges of PWDs and senior citizens will no longer push through,” ani Recto.

Nakapaloob sa RA 10754 (An Act Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of Persons With Disability (PWD), isinabatas noong Marso 23, na hindi pwedeng patawan ng buwis ang PWDs at senior citizens mula sa sales taxes, transport fares, medicines, medical at dental services, laboratory fees, na umabot sa 32 porsiyento.
