DAVAO CITY — Inihayag ng Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) nitong Miyerkules ang implementasyon ng karagdagang dalawa hanggang tatlong oras na brownout sa service areas nito.
“For the past weeks, Davao Light was able to avoid the implementation of the rotating power interruptions despite the continued Mindanao-wide grid deficiency due to the El Niño and the bombings of transmission lines,” saad sa pahayag ng DLPC.
Sinabi ng DLPC na inihayag ng Therma South Inc. (TSI) nitong Martes na isa sa mga unit nito na mayroong 150MW capacity, na may 50MW contract ang DLPC, sa coal-fired power plant nito ay sasailalim sa 10-day preventive maintenance shutdown simula Pebrero 16 hanggang 26.

“Unavoidably, with this situation, Davao Light will only have a total of 275 MW of available power to supply the customers’ average demand of 345 MW in a day. The deficiency will now translate to two to three hours of rotating power interruptions,” anang DLPC.
Idinagdag nito na hindi pa matukoy ang eksaktong oras ng pagkawala ng kuryente dahil paiba-iba ang alokasyon bawat oras at ang bilang ng feeders at nakadepende ang interruption sa supply deficit sa partikular na oras sa isang araw.
“The company will continue to give its customers daily updates on any changes in the power supply situation,” pahayag ng DLPC.
Ang DLPC ay mayroong halos 329,000 kostumer sa franchise nito area sa mga lungsod ng Davao at Panabo at sa mga munisipalidad ng Carmen, Dujali at Sto. Tomas sa Davao del Norte. (Alexander D. Lopez)
