Anim na katutubong tribu ang masayang makikilahok sa isasagawang Tribal Games ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) kasama ang National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sa bundok ng Pastolan sa Subic, Zambales.

Sinabi ni POC 2nd Vice-president Jeff Tamayo na ang anim na tribu ay mula sa mga kalapit na lugar sa Morong, Socobia at Clark.

“We have a total of 70 athletes competing in six events in archery and athletics,” pahayag ni Tamayo.

Paglalabanan ng mga katutubong atleta ang anim na event na 25m precision, tree-top, assault, blow pipe – 7-feet precision, blow pipe tree top at ang javelin.

“We are conducting the tournament in preparation for a big Aeta Olympics which we plan to stage this year,” aniya.

“It is also part of identifying the probable athletes that we will send to the World TAFESA Indigenous Sports for All tournaments in Indonesia.”

“It is also part of our plan together with the NCAA to have a regional tournament for the discovery of athletes and also for staging qualifying tournaments for our association,” aniya. (Angie Oredo)
