GINANAP sa Trinoma ang event ng ABS-CBN Film Restoration at Cinema One last Wednesday para ipapanood ang restored version of the 1980 musical comedy film na Kakabakaba Ka Ba?
Dinirihe ni Mike de Leon at pinagbidahan ni ABS-CBN CEO Charo Santos-Concio ang nasabing pelikula kasama sina Christopher de Leon, Sandy Andolong, Buboy Garovillo, Jay Ilagan (SLN), Johnny Delgado (SLN), Moody Diaz (SLN), at Nanette Inventor.
Sa ginanap na screening, nanguna si Ma’am Charo sa mga dumalo kasama ang ilang cast members, Kapamilya directors, Dreamscape honcho Deo Endrinal, Biboy Arboleda, at Film Restoration head Mr. Leo Katigbak.
“Medyo mahaba rin po ang dinaanan nitong proyektong ito,” sabi ni Leo sa kanyang speech. “Mga tatlong taon po rin naming sinubukan i-negotitiate at saka ‘yung mga rights ng pelikula at natutuwa rin po kami na natuloy siya.
Actually, ito po ang culminating activity ng ABS-CBN Film Restoration ng 2015. And, sabi ko nga, this is also fitting in the sense na it also stars our president, Mrs. Charo Santos-Concio. It’s also the year that she’s retiring.”
“I feel good kasi we’re sharing another Mike de Leon masterpiece to the younger generation,” pahayag naman ni Charo.
Masaya si Charo dahil sa tinagal-tagal ng kanilang paghahanap sa archives ng LVN Production, natagpuan nila ang ilang classic film gaya ng Kakakaba Ka Ba? at ang Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising na niri-restore na rin. “Alam mo naman, this is part of our public service. ‘Yung public service orientation value ng ABS-CBN so we want to be able to share nga the masterpieces of our great directors to the younger generation.”
Nagsalita na rin ang lady executive tungkol sa kanyang pagriretiro.
“Well, everything is temporary. You’ll really prepare yourself for a transition when you allow the younger generation to take on the leadership role,” sabi ng mahusay na Kapamilya head. (ADOR SALUTA)
