Hindi pa man nagsisimula ang mga programa ng bagong tatag na Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Incorporated (LVPI), kinakaharap na ng asosasyon ang malaking pagkakautang na hindi nabayaran ng dating namamahalang Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF).
Sinabi ni LVPI president Joey Romasanta sa ginanap na AVC Women’s Under 23 Championships draw of lots sa Crown Plaza Hotel na hanggang sa kasalukuyan ay may utang ang Pilipinas ng $90,000 (P3.9M) sa Federation International des Volleyball (FIVB).
“For a start, LVPI has committed to settle the indebtedness of the previous administrations amounting to $90,000 and we have likewise obligated ourselves to participate in at least six Asian Championships from nearby Taipei to as far away Iran as our commitment to volleyball,” sinabi ni Romasanta.
Una nang kinumpirma ni AVC Secretary general Shanrit Wongprasert sa nasabing aktibidad ang pagkilala sa bagong asosasyon.

“We have to respect the national Olympic committee decision, because all the international federation has to work with the NOC’s. We, in the AVC and FIVB, have to work with the group recognized by the NOC. We have to work and run our championships in coincidence with the rules of FIVB and AVC,” pahayag ni Shanrit.
Ang susunod na hakbangin ni Romasanta ay ipakilala ang buong liderato ng LVPI sa gaganaping general assembly ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) sa Marso 25.
“The Philippines, as well as the SEA and Asian volleyball communities, could not comprehend why despite the huge popularity of volleyball, we have been noticeably absent from at least the SEAG,” paliwanag ni Romasanta.
“The LVPI hopes to address and bring Philippine volleyball back on the regional track to do justice to the athletes and resurrect the glory days of Philippine volleyball,” giit pa nito.
Ang mga miyembro naman ng LVPI Board of Trustees ay sina Chairman Victorico Chavez, Vice-President Peter Cayco (NCAA), Secretary General Ricky Palou (Shakey’s V-League), at Chief Finance Officer Ramon “Choy” Cojuangco Jr.
Ang mga Board member naman ay sina Ariel Paredes (Philippine Superliga), Rodrigo Roque (UAAP), Col. Jeff Tamayo (Corporate Treasurer), Atty. Ramon Malinao (Legal Counsel and Corporate Secretary) at ang IOC lecturer na si Dr. Benjamin Espiritu (Resident Managing Director).
