Kinumpirma ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) sa kanilang pahayag na isasagawa nila ang agarang implementasyon ng “automatic price freeze” sa lahat ng “basic necessities.”

Kaugnay ito sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. matapos niyang ideklara ang National State of Calamity sa buong bansa, upang mapabilis umano ang pagpapadala ng tulong sa mga naapektuhang residente ng Bagyong Tino.

Sa ibinahaging Facebook post ng DTI Philippines nitong Biyernes, Nobyembre 7, mababasang mananatili raw ang naturang price freeze sa loob ng 60 araw, o kaya naman kung kailan ito itaas ng Pangulo.

“Following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s announcement that he has approved the declaration of a state of national calamity, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), as chair of the National Price Coordinating Council (NPCC), will immediately implement the automatic price freeze on all basic necessities,” anang DTI.

“The price freeze will remain in force for 60 days, or until lifted by the President. The DTI has coordinated with all key NPCC implementing agencies to protect consumers during this critical period,” dagdag pa nito.

Nilinaw din ng ahensya na walang-tigil umano silang nakikipagtulungan sa manufacturers, retailers, at distributors para mapanatili ang sapat na suplay ng necessities at commodities.

“The DTI is working round-the-clock with manufacturers, retailers, and distributors to ensure sufficient and steady stock of basic necessities and prime commodities. All DTI Regional and Provincial Offices are on heightened alert and mobilized to enforce compliance with the price freeze and maintain adequate supply nationwide,” saad ng ahensya.

Matatandaang kamakailan ay siniguro ng DTI na hindi tataas ang presyo ng basic necessities sa Western Visayas, bunsod ng epektong hatid ni Bagyong Tino sa rehiyon.
