Iginiit ni reelected Leyte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang karapatan ng mga Pilipino sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
Sa inilabas na pahayag ni Romualdez nitong Linggo, Hulyo 13, sinabi niyang muling pinagtitibay ng Arbitral Award na ang WPS ay bahagi ng Pilipinas.
“The Arbitral Award reaffirms what we’ve always known in our hearts — the West Philippine Sea belongs to the Filipino people. Not because we are the strongest, but because it is rightfully ours under international law,” saad ni Romualdez.
Dagdag pa niya, “This was a victory of principle over power, of law over intimidation. And it reminds us of what we can achieve when we stand as one people, bound by patriotism and a deep love for country.”

Matatandaang ginunita kahapon, Hulyo 12, ang tagumpay ng Pilipinas laban sa China sa Permanent Court of Arbitration. Pinawalang-bisa ng ruling na ito ang inaangking nine-dash line ng China sa teritoryo ng Pilipinas.
Kaya naman nanawagan si Romualdez sa lahat ng Pilipinas na panatilihing buhay ang espiritu ng Arbitral Award sa pamahalaan man o sa araw-araw na buhay.
“The West Philippine Sea is ours. And as long as we stand as one — brave, just, and proudly Filipino — we will always stand on the side of what is right,” anang kongresista.
