Nilinaw ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na hindi umano nila binuwag ang security group ni Vice President Sara Duterte. 

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng AFP nitong Sabado, Abril 5, 2025, nilinaw nilang isinaayos nila ang Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG)  at isinailalim ito sa AFP Security and Protection Group (AFPSPG).

"The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) clarifies that the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSG) was not disbanded, but rather reorganized into the AFP Security and Protection group (AFPSPG) as part of our rationalization and streamlining efforts implemented in February 2025, as approved by the Department of National Defense," anang AFP. 

Layunin daw ng AFP na magkaroon ng mas pinatibay at nagkakaisang seguridad at proteksyon para sa Bise Presidente.

"This administrative adjustment was undertaken to unify security and protection operations. It ensures the continued, uninterrupted and robust protection of the Vice President within a more integrated and optimized framework," anila. 

Kaugnay nito, nakiusap din ang AFP sa publiko, na iwasan umano ang pagpapakalat ng mga maling impormasyon.

"The AFP likewise appeals to some of our fellow Filipinos to avoid spreading false or misleading information. We enjoin our kababayans to use our communication platforms to promote unity, peace and understanding, and not to sow discord, hatred and division," saad ng AFP.

Saad pa nila, "The AFP remains fully committed to the safety and protection of the Vice President and all key officials of the government."
