Ipinahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. nitong Martes, Enero 23, na itinuturing niyang “banta” sa soberanya ng Pilipinas ang International Criminal Court (ICC).
Sa isang ambush interview sa Quezon City nitong Martes, Enero 23, muling binigyang-diin ni Marcos na walang jurisdiction ang ICC sa Pilipinas at hindi umano makikipagtulungan ang pamahalaan sa pag-imbestiga nito sa war on drugs ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
"Let me say this for the 100th time. I do not recognize the jurisdiction of ICC in the Philippines. I consider it as a threat to our sovereignty, therefore, the Philippine government will not lift a finger to help any investigation that the ICC conducts," ani Marcos.
“However, as ordinary people, they can come and visit the Philippines pero hindi kami tutulong sa kanila. In fact, binabantayan namin sila, making sure that they do not come into contact with any agency of government," dagdag pa niya.
Bato kay PBBM hinggil sa ICC: ‘Be man enough’
Ayon pa sa pangulo, kapag daw nakipag-ugnayan ang ICC sa ahensya ng gobyerno, hindi raw nila ito sasagutin.
“And if they are contacting agencies of government, na sasabihin nong agent – pulis man, local government, sabihin noong – huwag n’yong sasagutin.’Yun ang sagot natin, that we do not recognize your jurisdiction, therefore, we will not assist in any way, shape or form, any of the investigations that the ICC is doing here in the Philippines,” ani Marcos.
Matatandaang nanawagan si Senador Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa nitong Lunes, Enero 22, kay Marcos na prangkahin na sila hinggil sa tunay na tindin ng administrasyon sa ICC.
Sinabi ito ni Dela Rosa matapos sabihin ni dating Senador Antonio Trillanes IV kamakailan na natapos na umano ng ICC ang imbestigasyon nito sa war on drugs ng dating administrasyon at posible umanong ilabas ang “arrest warrant” laban kay Duterte at Dela Rosa sa “lalong madaling panahon.”
