“The first round is one of the toughest rounds in any tournament. It usually sets the tone of how you’re going to perform,” pahayag ni Morado, ang 2017 Asean Age Group chess champion sa Under 20 division na ginanap sa Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.

Ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) sponsored tournament ay inorganisa ni Saturnino Belen Jr. ng Active Chess Center for Asia under auspices ng Asian Chess Federation, World Chess Federation (FIDE), at ng National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) sa gabay ni president/chairman Deputy Speaker Prospero “Butch” Pichay Jr. sa pakikipagtulungan ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
