Hinikayat ng Department of Labor and Employment ang mga nakabakasyong estudyante na mag-apply ng summer job, sa ilalim ng Special Program for Employment of Students.

Ayon kay Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) Director Dominique Tutay, magsisimula ang SPES program sa susunod na buwan.

"SPES, especially for high school, is already set to start this April...you can already start inquiring for available jobs and their respective job descriptions," pahayag ni Tutay sa panayam sa radyo ngayong Linggo.

"Let us take advantage of these opportunities to gain the necessary experiences," dagdag niya.

Ang SPES ay isang employment bridging program, para sa high school, technical o vocational at tertiary students na nasa edad 15-24, tuwing summer vacation na layuning madagdagan ang kita ng pamilya ng mahihirap ngunit karapat-dapat na mga estudyante.

Sa ilalim ng naturang programa, nagtatagal ang trabaho ng 20-52 araw. Babayaran ng mga employers ang mga benepisyaryo ng 60 porsiyento ng kasalukuyang minimum wage habang ang natitirang 40% ay papasanin ng labor department.

Sa mga interesado, bumisita sa Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at magdala ng photocopy ng kanilang NSO birth certificate, pinakabagong report card, 2x2 ID picture, at certificate of indigence mula sa barangay.
