Ikakansela ang kontrata sa pagitan ng Nayong Pilipino Foundation at Landing Resorts Philippines Development Corporation matapos na ipawalang bisa ng Department of Justice (DoJ) ang nasabing kontrata, ayon sa Malacañang.

Ito ang ipinahayag ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque matapos makumpleto at pormal na isumite ng Do Jang findings nito sa naturang kontrata sa Office of the President (OP).

Sa press briefing, sinabi ni Roque na sinuportahan ni DoJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra ang naunang pahayag ni Duterte na ang kontrata ay mali.

Idinagdag niya na ang kontrata ay nakatakda nang kanselahin.

“’Yan po ay definitely for cancellation dahil nasusugan na po ni Secretary Guevarra ‘yung nauna pong opinyon ni Presidente na flawed ang contract,” aniya.

“Ang pagkakaiba, ang sinabi ni Secretary Guevarra na ang kontrata ay void ab initio, void from the very beginning, at ‘wag na po magpilit and Landing should just drop it. I don’t think they’re also in a position to insist,” dagdag niya.

Ayon kay Roque, inilarawan ng DoJ ang kontrata sa Hong Kong casino developer bilang void ab initio o not legally binding.

“According to the Secretary of Justice, the contract of Landing with Nayong Pilipino is a build operate transfer contract disguised as a lease contract,” aniya.

“Because it is a BOT project, it should have complied with the BOT law including public bidding. This of course rebuts the public advertisement paid for by former officials of the Nayong Pilipino,” dagdag ni Roque.

“Again, I reiterate, the DoJ has joined the President in concluding that the contract is void ab initio,” pagpapatuloy niya.
