Nagpahayag ng katiyakan ang Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) sa mahigpit na pagtalima ng mga establisimyento sa pamantayan ng occupational safety and health (OSH) kasunod ng pagsasabatas sa Occupational Safety bill, na layuning papanagutin ang mga lumalabag.

Babaguhin ng “Act strengthening compliance with occupational safety and health standards and providing penalties for violations” ang 41- anyos na Labor Code, na hindi nagtatakda ng matinding parusa sa mga lumalabag.

“Ensuring the safety of our workers is among our top priorities and we will not tolerate any inaction and non-compliance to the OSH standards as it continues to disrespect the general welfare of workers and cause unfortunate occurrences at work,” sabi ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
