Hiniling ni Senator Leila de Lima sa pamunuan ng Senado na umpisahan na ang pagdinig tungkol sa kondisyon ng mga kulungan sa buong bansa.
Ayon sa nakapiit na senadora, napapanahon na para imbestigahan ito dahil sa pagtaya na rin ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na karamihan sa mga regional detention cell sa bansa ay talagang siksikan na.
“It’s about time for the appropriate Senate committee to address the issue concerning overcrowded detention cells and act on the resolutions I filed, including PSR Nos. 97 and 590, proper investigations in aid of legislation should push through to come up with a solution on how to decongest and improve the worsening state of detention facilities in the country,” ani De Lima.
