NAGHANDOG ang Japan ng 27 bagong heavy equipment para sa rehabilitation program ng Marawi City, kinumpirma ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Tinanggap nina Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea at DPWH Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Task Force Bangon Marawi Mark Villar ang equipment mula kay Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda sa Marawi City.
Isinagawa ang handover ceremony sa pitong hydraulic excavators, tatlong bulldozers, tatlong wheel loaders, dalawang motor graders, at 12 dump trucks nitong Huwebes.
Ang donasyon ng Japan ay kaugnay ng pangako nitong muling ibabangon ang Marawi City at ipakita ang masiglang ugnayan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.
Dinaluhan din ito nina Department of Budegt and Management (DBM) Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno, Embassy of Japan Economic Affairs Ministers Makoto Iyori, DPWH Undersecretry Emil K. Sadain, Department of National Defense (DND) Undersecretary Cesar Yano, Lanao del Sur Vice Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong, Jr., Marawi City Mayor Majul U.
Gandamra, DPWH Region 10 Director Virgilio Eduarte, DPWH Project Director Madsmo Hasim, at DPWH Bureau of Equipment Director Noel Ilao.
Bukod diyan, aabot din sa 26 na Mitsubishi utility vehicles ang inihandog ng Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, sa pamamagitan ni President and CEO Mitsuhiro Oshikiri, sa Task Force Bangon Marawi sa pamamagitan naman nina Executive Secretary Medialdea at Assistant Sectetary Felix Castro, ng Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
Bukod sa construction machineries, nagkaloob din ng tulong ang Japan sa United Nations Habitat Program.
