INTERESADO ang Bacolod City, Negros Occidental na muling maging bahagi sa hosting ng bansa sa 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Ayon kay Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta Party-list Rep. Mark Aeron Sambar, ipinarating sa kanya ni Mayor Evelio Leonardia ang kapasidad ng lungsod para maging venue ng biennial meet na nakatakdang ganapin sa 2019.
Miyembro si Sambar ng Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (Philsoc) na pinamumunuan ni Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano kasama ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Board.
“We have not yet discussed the areas in the provinces to be one of the venues, but I am sure Bacolod can still be included because of its history in hosting the SEA Games,” pahayag ni Sambar.
“It is my pleasure to promote Bacolod as one of the cities for hosting a certain event for SEA Games because we need more help from the provinces,” aniya.
Noong 2005 SEA Games hosting ng bansa, kabilang ang Bacolod City sa tatlong satellite venues. Kabilang sa sports na nilaro sa lungsod ang boxing, beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, soccer at weightlifting.
Nakamit ng bansa ang overall championship noong 2005 at ayon sa mga opisyal ng PSC, malaki ang tsansa na muling makahirit ang bansa sa pedestal.
