BAHAGYANG liyamado si NABF super flyweight champion Aston Palicte ng Pilipinas na mapanatili ang kanyang korona laban kay Mexican challenger Jose Alfredo Rodriguez sa kanilang sagupaan ngayon sa Round Rock, Texas sa United States.

Sa official weigh-in na ginanap sa Central Texas Acura car dealership, tumimbang si Palicte ng eksaktong 115 pounds samantalang mas magaan si Rodriguez sa 113.7 lbs. kaya natuwa ang boxing fans dahil tuloy ang paboksing ng Roy Jones Jr Promotions.

“Palicte will be defending his NABF super flyweight against Rodriguez the belt he won at a fight card under The Tent at Downtown Las Vegas where he beat Oscar Cantu of Texas via a hard fought split decision,” ayon sa ulat ng BoxingScene.com.

“José Alfredo Rodríguez held the WBA light flyweight interim title from 2011 to 2012. He is known amongst Filipino fight fans as the fighter that lost to Milan Melindo for the WBO International Super flyweight belt and lately to Jerwin Ancajas for the IBF Super Flyweight title,” dagdag sa ulat.

May rekord si Palicte na 23-2-0, may 19 panalo sa knockouts samantalang si Rodriguez ay may kartadang 32-5-0, na may 19 pagwawagi sa knockouts.
