Tatlong araw na magrerelaks ang mga estudyante at mga manggagawa sa Metro Manila, Bulacan at Pampanga matapos pormal na idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte bilang special non-working days ang Nobyembre 13, 14 at 15, kaugnay sa pagiging host ng bansa sa 31st ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Summit and Related Summits.

Inilabas ng Malacañang ang Proclamation No. 332 na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea batay sa rekomendasyon ng summit organizers.

“Various activities directly connected with the 31st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, to be attended by ASEAN leaders and ASEAN Dialogue Partners, will be held in the NCR (National Capital Region) and Clark Field, Pampanga,” saad sa proklamasyon.

“The ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council has recommended that 13-15 November 2017 be declared as special (non-working) days in the NCR, and the Provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga, as these areas will be directly affected by the said activities,” dagdag dito.

Ang Pilipinas ang may hawak ng rotating chairmanship ng ASEAN ngayong taon. Ang chairmanship nito ay kasabay ng 50th anniversary ng samahan ngayong 2017.
