Arestado ang isang Australian na sinasabing sangkot sa kalakalan ng ilegal na droga at ilang taon nang nagtatago sa Pilipinas.

Kinilala ang suspek na si Markis Scott Turner alyas Filip Novak.

50.78% examinees, pasado sa Nov. 2024 Licensure Exam for Agriculturists

Ayon kay National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Dante Gierran, nakipag-ugnayan ang pamahalaan ng Australia sa Department of Justice upang maipatupad ang provisional arrest kay Turner, sa bisa na rin ng Treaty of Extradition sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.

Ayon sa NBI, mula 2009 hanggang 2011, nakapag-import si Turner, sa tulong ng mga Colombian, ng 71.6 kilo ng cocaine na ibebenta sana sa Australia.

Ikinubli ng suspek ang mga ilegal na droga sa mga drum ng hydraulic oil ng kanyang kumpanyang CQE Materials and Handling.

Mula Agosto 2015, nagtago si Turner sa Island Garden City sa Samal, Davao kung saan din siya naaresto ng awtoridad.
