MAINIT na pagbati ang ipinaabot ng Malacanang sa panibagong panalong nakamit ng koponan ng Pilipinas sa nagpapatuloy na 29th South East Asian (SEA) Games sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella na kahanga-hangang ang ipinamalas na kahusayan ng Pinoy ang impresibo ang “good harvest of medals” sa iba’t ibang sports.
Ayon kay Abella, binabati nila sina Nikko Bryan Huelgas at John Leerams Chicano na nanalo ng gold medal at silver medal sa katatapos na men’s triathlon event, gayundin sina Marion Kim Mangrobang at Maria Claire Adorna na nagwagi rin ng gold at silver medals sa women’s triathlon event.
Una ng nakakuha ng bronze medals sina Kareel Hongitan, Nicole Marie Tagle at Maryqueen Ybanez sa women’s team recurve archery habang sina Mark Javier, Florante Matan, Gabriel Moreno at Rogelio Tremedal ay nakakuha naman ng bronze sa men’s team recurve archery.
“The week starts with a good harvest of medals for the Philippines. Our warmest congratulations to the following athletes: Nikko Bryan Huelgas and John Leerams Chicano for winning the Philippines a gold medal and a silver medal in the men’s triathlon event; Marion Kim Mangrobang and Maria Claire Adorna for the gold and silver medals in the women’s triathlon event; Kareel Hongitan, Nicole Marie Tagle and Maryqueen Ybanez for the bronze medal in the women’s team recurve archery; and Mark Javier, Florante Matan, Gabriel Moreno and Rogelio Tremedal for the bronze medal in the men’s team recurve archery.
