Naghandog ng mga armas at bala, na ginagamit sa mga air strike, ang United States military kasabay ng kakulangan sa supply ng Philippine Air Force dahil sa nangyayaring bakbakan sa Marawi City.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng United State Embassy na aabot na sa 1,040 rocket motor at 922 rocket ang itinurn over sa pamamagitan ng Joint US Military Assistance Group (JUSMAG) bilang parte ng Mutual Logistics Support Agreement.
Ayon dito, ang paglilipat ng mga armas at bala ay makatutulong sa counter-terrorism efforts ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

“The munitions and weapons deliveries will enhance the AFP’s counterterrorism capabilities, and directly support AFP members actively engaged in counterterrorism operations in the southern Philippines, including Marawi,” base sa pahayag.
Tinanggap kahapon ng Malacañang ang handog ng US na dalawang bagong military aircraft.
Ayon sa Palasyo, sa isang pahayag kahapon, ang dalawang Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircraft mula sa US ay patunay ng alyansa sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.
“This donation of the United States reaffirms the strong military alliance between the Philippines and the United States which remains robust to this day,” ayon sa Malacañang.
“These aircraft will significantly enhance the ability of the AFP to locate terrorist groups operating in Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago,” ayon naman sa US Embassy.
“These will be used anywhere in the Philippines because the range is malayo naman e (because of its wide range), including Marawi, the Sulu Sea, the West Philippine Sea, [and] the Benham Rise,” sinabi ni Defense Secretary DelfinLorenzana Lorenzana sa mga mamamahayag nitong Huwebes.
