INAMIN ni Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes na bumaba ang kumpiyansa ng koponan na sasabak sa 2017 FIBA Asia Cup sa Lebanon dahil sa pagkawala ni Andray Blatche.

“Very, very low,” paglalarawan ni Reyes sa morale ng kanyang koponan.
“I mean we’re going to fight. We’re going to fight like hell but we have to manage expectations.”
Nauna nang lumabas ang mga balitang hindi interesado si Blatche na lumaro para sa Gilas sa biennial continental meet.
At ayon kay Reyes, nakatakdang magpaliwanag ni Blatche hinggil dito. “I think he’s gonna issue a statement soon,” ani Reyes.
Bukod sa problema kay Blatche, nagkakaroon din ng problema ang coaching staff sa pagdalo ng mga Gilas players sa kanilang mga practice sessions bilang paghahanda bago sila sumabak sa Lebanon cagefest,.
“I thought we had 12 days practice and right, we have 12 days practice except not with the whole team, hindi kumpleto. It’s gonna be very, very difficult,” ayon kay Reyes.
“But you know these guys. They never quit, they never give up. Hopefully we can spring some surprises come FIBA Asia,” aniya.
