KABILANG si Bb. Pilipinas-International Maria Angelica “Mariel” de Leon sa mga nag-comment sa pagkaka-appoint kay Mocha Uson bilang assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office. Kaya lang, na-bash siya ng netizens na kampi kay Mocha.
Nag-post kasi si Mariel ng, “There are so many other unbiased, educated, and respected (and respectful) people who deserve her place.” Sagot niya ito sa isa niyang follower sa Twitter na nagtanong ng reaction niya sa pagkaka-appoint kay Mocha sa bago nitong position.
Nag-comment ang isang Jack Sotto ng, “So she won a crown and now she thinks she’s an expert. Some beauty queen should talk about superficial things. There are other more beautiful, educated and intelligent women who should have.”

Ipinagtanggol din ng pro-Duterte blogger na si Sass Rogando Sasot si Mocha at sinabi nitong qualified si Mocha sa position. Pinagkumpara rin ni Sass ang educational background nina Mariel at Mocha.
“Mocha got her diploma before you get yours, FYI, she finished a medical degree and got into one of the top med schools in the PH. I believe your degree is related to cooking?”
Tanong pa ni Sass, “How is Mocha not qualified to do the job? But before that what made you qualified to gauge someone’s qualification in that field?”
Sa Twitter, sumagot si Mariel ng, “There is no point in making such a small issue this big, you guys! This is just Twitter, all love!” at “Come at me all you want, but why bring my friends and family into this?”
May tweet pa siyang, “There are so much issues happening in our country now so I’m glad that I have the platform now to voice out my opinions. See, beauty pageants aren’t just for standing there and looking pretty.”
Ipinagtatanggol si Mariel ng maraming netizens at pinupuri siya na hindi lang katulad ng ibang beauty queen kundi naninindigan din sa kanyang opinyon.
