BAGUIO CITY – Sa botong 11-4, pinagtibay sa summer session ng Korte Suprema sa Baguio City kahapon ang desisyon nito noong 2016 na nagbabasura, dahil sa kakulangan ng ebidensiya, sa kasong plunder ni dating Pangulo at ngayon ay Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo kaugnay ng umano’y maanomalyang paggamit sa P366-milyon pondo ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Nakasaad sa summary ng resolusyong inilabas ng public information office ng Korte Suprema na: “The Court denied the People’s motion for reconsideration of the Court’s July 19, 2016 Decision for lack of merit. The Court noted that its Decision had granted petitioners’ respective Demurrers to the Evidence which resulted in their acquittal and thus any attempt to reconsider the Decision would amount to double jeopardy.”
