ONE Championship, mas pinalakas sa Manila-Balita

ASAHAN ang mas maaksiyon at kapana-panabik na sagupaan sa pagbabalik ng ONE Championship sa Manila sa Abril 21 sa 20,000-seater MOA Arena sa Pasay City.

Ibinida ni ONE FC chairman Chatri Sityodtong na inihanda ang ‘blockbuster’ match-up para sa fight card sa Manila.

“April 21st in Manila is going to be a massive, massive event. We are going to have a crazy card for the fans in the Philippines. You’ve got to come out and show your love. We’re going to see some fireworks. It will probably be our biggest event in the Philippines,” pahayag ni Sityodtong.

Kinumpirma ni Sityodtong na tampok sa fight card ang pagdepensa ni Pinoy star Eduard Folayang sa kanyang ONE Lightweight World Championship title.

Nakamit ng pamosong miyembro ng Team Lakay ng Baguio City ang kampeonato nang sopresahin ang liyamadong si Shinya Aoki. Ito ang unang world title ni Folayang matapos ang siyam na taong pagsabak sa mixed martial arts.

“In order to become a legend, you have to beat a legend. He did that despite being dominated by Shinya Aoki in the first round. Eduard Folayang showed what it’s like to conquer the odds,” pahayag ni Sityodtong.

“He is going to defend it in his home country for the first time. I want the entire country, if you’re a Filipino or have a Pinoy heart, you’ve got to watch this fight,” aniya.

Bukod kay Folayang, iginiit ni Sityodtong na pakakaabangan din ang laban ni Ben Askren sa pagdepensa sa kanyan ONE Welterweight World Championship.

Ipinapalagay na isa sa pinakamahusay na welterweight MMA fighter sa mundo, hindi estranghero si Askren sa uri ng aksiyon sa Pilipinas kung saan dalawang ulit na siyang lumaban.

Galing si Askren sa unanimous decision triumph kontra Russia’s Nikolay Aleksakhin noong Abril.

“We’re definitely going to have some of the biggest Filipino superstars back. I hope to see the best and the brightest from the Philippines. I also hope to see Geje Eustaquio and Kevin Belingon,” pahayag ni Sityodtong.

“The Philippines is a very important market for us. I truly believe that ONE Championship can become mainstream where every single Filipino is enthralled with what ONE Championship has to offer,” aniya.
