MASUSUBOK ang kakayahan at katatagan ng Team Pradera-Philippines laban sa pinakamahuhusay na player sa Southeast Asia sa pagpalo ng Pradera Ladies Golf Challenge sa Enero 15-17 sa Pradera Golf Club sa Lubao, Pampanga.

“Since match play is a head-to-head battle, the best way to put pressure on an opponent is to keep the ball in play.

If you don’t attack, your opponent will probably attack you back,” pahayag ni Chona De La Paz, isa sa team captain ng Team Pradera na lalaban sa torneo na itinulad ang format sa Ryder Cup.

Bahagi rin ng koponan bilang co-team captain ng Team Pradera si two-time LPGA Tour winner Jennifer Rosales.

“I’m happy and excited for our girls to have this new event. This first-ever Ryder Cup-style format is a good event for greater golf relations with our SEA neighbors. I’m really excited and looking forward to it,” pahayag ni Rosales, five-time Philippine Ladies Open champion.

Makakasama sa 10-player Pradera Team sina dating Thailand Amateur Open champion Pauline del Rosario at five-time world junior titlist Annyka Cayabyab. Itinataguyod ang torneo nina Archen Cayabyab at Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, sa pakikipagtulungan ni coach Norman Sto. Domingo.

“This event will not only showcase the individual talents of the participants but also their teamsmanship and I believe the effect of this match will influence a cordial and friendly relations among SEA neighbors,” sambit ni Archen Cayabyab.

“I also thank the team captains for giving their time and wisdom to the girls.”

Kabilang din sa koponan sina Mikha Fortuna, Sofia Chabon, Bernice Ilas at Abby Arevalo ng The Country Club, jungolfer Mika Arroyo, Nicole Abelar, Tomi Arejola at Missy Legaspi.

Sasandigan ni Thai teen star Attaya Thitikul ang Team SEA na kinabibilangan din nina Thais Napabhach Boon-in, Tunrada Piddon, Onkanok Soisuwan at Kan Bunnabodee, Malaysians Qistina Balqis, Geraldine Wong, Natasha Oon at Winnie Ng at Michela Tjan ng Indonesia. Sina Dato Raby Abbas at Phunumpa Pornperan ang team captain.

Limang pares ang magsasagupa sa unang dalawang araw ng torneo – foursome sa umaga at best ball sa hapon – habang isasagawa ang singles event sa Enero 17. Ang koponan na makakaiskor ng 15.5 puntos ang tatanghaling kampeon.
