PORT-AU-PRINCE (AFP) - Si Jovenel Moise ang nagwagi sa presidential elections ng Haiti sa nakuhang 55.6 porsiyento ng boto sa halalan noong Nobyembre 20, ayon sa mga opisyal na resulta.
Winakasan ng deklarasyon ng Haiti Provisional Electoral Council ang mahabang electoral process sa bansang Caribbean na nagsimula noong Oktubre 2015.
“We will write a new page of history, one that is positive for this country, so future generations can be proud,” sabi ni Moise sa kanyang victory speech sa isang hotel sa Petion-Ville, sa kabisera.

“The voters who chose to cast their vote for another candidate, I want them to know that I respect their choice. I will be president for every Haitian,” aniya.
Si Moise, 48-anyos na baguhang pulitiko, ay nakatakdang maupo sa puwesto sa Pebrero 7 kapalit ni Jocelerme Privert, na halos isang taong naging interim president simula nang matapos ang termino ni Michel Martelly nang walang nahalal na kapalit.
