Maging si Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo ay nalilito sa idineklarang terror level alert 3 at hinihingan niya ng sagot ang mga awtoridad kung bakit ito idineklara.
“We do not just raise terror alert. Whatever is its basis, I think the people should know so that it would not cause undue fear,” pahayag ni Robredo sa mga mamamahayag nitong Biyernes sa Pasay City.
Ayon kay Robredo, chair ng Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), ang pagdideklara ng terror alert ay hindi dapat ginagawa basta-basta.

“If there is a terror alert, many lives are at stake. The public has the right to be informed,” aniya.
Kamakailan lamang, inanunsiyo ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa isinailalim sa terror alert ang buong bansa matapos ang napigilang pagsabog ng bomba na iniwan malapit sa United States (US) Embassy sa Maynila.
Sinabihan ng PNP ang publiko na asahan ang mas mahigpit na security measure at maging alerto, idiniin na posibleng magkaroon ng nakamamatay na pag-atake “within a short period time.”
Ngunit matapos ang kanyang anunsiyo, nilinaw ni National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. na hindi buong Pilipinas ang nakapailalim sa terror alert level 3.
Tatlong probinsiya—Davao, Cotabato at Zamboanga—ang tanging nakapailalim sa terror alert habang inaalam pa kung kabilang ang Metro Manila, ayon kay Esperon.
Nakiusap si Robredo sa PNP at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na liwanagin ang kanilang “conflicting” na pahayag.
“The PNP said there’s a threat but the AFP said there’s none. I think whoever is saying that there is, we deserve to know the basis,” sambit ni Robredo.
Samantala, ipinagpasalamat ni Robredo na nilinaw ng Malacañang ang naging pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte kaugnay sa pagpatay sa human rights activist.
Sinabi ni Robredo na maaari itong maging problema kapag hindi nilinaw ang pahayag ng Pangulo.
“When it (threat) was first said, it is alarming but Malacañang clarified that the President didn’t mean it the way it sounded like,” ani Robredo. (RAYMUND F. ANTONIO)
