12-day ceasefire sa NPA, idineklara ni PNoy

Nagdeklara ng 12 araw na suspension of military operations (SOMO) ang administrasyong Aquino sa mga rebeldeng New People’s Army (NPA) ngayong Pasko at Bagong Taon.

Ito ay matapos aprubahan ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III ang rekomendasyon ng Department of National Defense (DND) sa agdedeklara ng 12 araw na tigil-opensiba laban sa NPA ngayong holiday season.

Sinabi ni Presidential Operations Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., na magsisimula ang unilateral declaration 12:01 sa madaling araw ng Disyembre 23 at magtatapos 11:59 ng gabi sa Enero 3, 2016.

“President Aquino has approved the recommendation of the Department of National Defense for the unilateral declaration of Suspension of Military Operations (SOMO) against the New People’s Army which would commence at 12:01 a.m. of 23 December 2015 and would end at 11:59 p.m. of 03 January 2016,” ani Coloma.

Unang nagdeklara ang Communist Party of the Philippines (CCP) ng unilateral ceasefire noong nakaraang linggo.
