Inaasahang mabibiyayaan na ng mga gamot ang mga mamamayan sa mga liblib na lugar na saklaw ng Region 4B, na kinabibilangan ng Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon at Palawan (MIMAROPA).
Ito ay bunsod ng nilagdaang kasunduan ng Department of Health (DoH)-Region 4B, National Children’s Hospital and Medical Center para sa joint implementation ng Telemedicine project para sa mga Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) sa rehiyon.
Ayon kina DoH-MIMAROPA Regional Director Dr. Eduardo Janairo at Medical Center Chief Epifania Simbul, layunin ng memorandum of agreement (MOA) na tiyaking maibibigay sa mamamayan sa rehiyon ang abot-kayang serbisyong medikal para sa mahihirap, sa pamamagitan ng Telemedicine project.
“Telemedicine refers to the provision of remote clinical services, via real-time two-way communication between the patient and the healthcare provider, using electronic audio and visual means,” ani Janairo.

“This is the first step in our effort to bring in specialty hospitals in the fore to the telemedicine program.
Eventually, all of these centers for health located in Metro Manila will be invited to join in to serve and provide their expertise,” aniya pa.
Sa ilalim ng MoA, ang NCH ang magbibigay ng technical and logistical support sa pagtatalaga ng mga resident doctor at medicine consultant na magsasagawa ng evaluation at diagnosis sa mga pasyente sa pamamagitan ng electronic mail na itinatag sa naturang programa.
Sa sandaling matanggap ang initial findings, ipiprisinta ito ng resident doctor sa medicine consultant kasunod ang pagsasagawa ng evaluation sa kalagayan ng ini-refer na pasyente sa pamamagitan ng video conference.
