Halatang pinaiikot lamang na parang “yoyo” ni WBC at WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. ang pangkat ni WBO 147 pounds titlist Manny Pacquiao dahil hindi ito desididong labanan ang Pilipino na matagal na nitong kinatatakutan.

Mismong si Top Rank promoter Bob Arum ang nagsabing pinagbigyan na nila ang lahat ng kahilingan ni Maweather ngunit waring nagpapatumpik-tumpik lamang ang hambog na Amerikano kaya malinaw na nililinlang nito maging ang mga apisyonado sa boksing sa paghamon sa Pilipino na magharap sila sa Mayo 2 sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

“We send one draft to their side and their lawyer sends back a draft with something else that’s an issue. And there doesn’t seem to be any urgency about it on their side. It’s terrible,” sabi ni Arum sa BoxingScene.com. “The thing that really concerns me is that we are running out of time for May 2. If you want to drag this out a little longer then move the fight to later in May — May 30 is a good date — or go in June.”

Nilinaw ni Arum na pumayag sila sa lahat ng kahilingan ni Mayweather pari sa petsa at lugar ng laban pero waring ibinibitin lamang sila ng Amerikano.

“We agreed to go on May 2 because that is the date Mayweather is hung up on, but if we’re going to go on May 2 we need to get this done,” dagdag ni Arum.

Maging si  British boxing star Amir Khan ay nagdududang matutuloy ang sagupaan nina Pacquiao at Mayweather dahil sa sobrang dami ng problema kaugnay ng laban.

“Honestly that fight will never happen, in my opinion. I spoke to Manny Pacquiao and, obviously, we speak to Mayweather and his team. I can’t really see that fight happening, there is too much politics with that fight,” sabi ni Khan na nakalinya ring labanan kaninuman nina Pacquiao at Mayweather. “There’s different promotions teams and different management teams - I don’t think they will let that fight happen.”

Ngunit gusto rin niyang matuloy ang laban para matiyak kung sino ang tunay na No. 1 boksingero sa buong mundo.

“If it does happen, I’m a big boxing fan and I would love to see it,” dagdag ni Khan. “I want either one of those guys, if they are fighting each other then I can’t argue because I would love to see that fight like everyone else. It’s a fight I’ve always waited for but it’s taken so long that I can’t see it happening.”
