(AFP)— Inakusahan ni EU parliament president Martin Schulz, noong Miyerkules si German Chancellor Angela Merkel ng “irresponsible speculation” sa mga suhestyon nito na maaaring pahintulutan ang Greece na umalis sa euro kapag nanalo ang far-left sa halalan sa susunod na buwan.

“The irresponsible speculation and debate over the ‘Grexit’ (Greek exit from the eurozone) really isn’t helping,” ani Schulz sa komento na inilathala sa Die Welt daily.

“It should be clear to everyone: there is no question of a withdrawal from the euro. The unsolicited comments which give the people of Greece the idea that it’s not for them to decide their future via their votes, but up to Brussels or Berlin could even push electors into the arms of radical forces,” babala ng German member ng European parliament.

Inulan ng batikos si Merkel simula nang ibalita ng Der Spiegel news weekly noong Sabado na ayon sa ilang sources na malapit sa German government na handa na siyang hayaang umalis ang Greece sa eurozone kapag inihalal ng mga Greek ang radical leftist party na Syriza sa snap election sa Enero 25.
