“The President has not yet decided on who to appoint (as) the successor to Secretary Ike Ona, so ang mangyayari status quo muna tayongayon. Usec. Janette Garin will bethe Acting Secretary of Health until any permanent appointment hasbeen announced,” sabi ni Lacierda.

“Kung ano ang reason ng pagtanggap ng resignation ni Secretary Ona, we do not have any information in that regard. What we were told and as mentioned by Secretary (Sonny) Coloma yesterday is that the Executive CamiaSecretary informed Secretary Ike Ona of the President’s acceptance of his resignation. Other than that statement, we have no information anymore,” pahayag ni Lacierda.

“The President deemed it best to accept the resignation. Hindi natin alam ang context kasi ng resignation letter, so it’s a matter between the President and Secretary Ike Ona, so we will leave it at that in the meantime,” pahayag ni Lacierda.
