Sa kulungan magdiriwang ng Pasko at Bagong Taon si Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada.

Ito ay matapos na ibasura kahapon ng Sandiganbayan Fifth Division ang mosyon ng senador na humihiling ng furlough sa Disyembre 25, 31 at Enero 1.

“Wherefore, the instant motion of accused Senator Estrada is denied for lack of merit,” saad sa resolusyon ng Fifth Division na may petsang Disyembre 19 at pirmado ni Chairman Roland Jurado at Associate Justices Ma. Theresa Dolores Gomez-Estoesta at Oscar Herrera Jr.

Kinatigan ang katwiran ng prosekusyon, ipinaliwanag ng Fifth Division na “to allow the accused-movant to leave his detention cell will not only set a bad precedent, but will likewise be regarded as a mockery of the administration of justice.”

“Moreover, allowing the accused to leave his detention cell on the requested period will entail additional and considerable government expenses to safeguard his security and safety,” dagdag pa ng korte.

Sa nasabi ring resolusyon ay tinukoy ng korte ang kaparehong dahil sa hindi pagbibigay sa una nang hiling na furlough ni Estrada para bisitahin sana ang mga puntod ng kaanak at mga kaibigan noong Nobyembre 1.
