Minaliit ni dating world boxing champion at trainer ngayon na si Jeff Mayweather ang karibal ni Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao na si WBO light welterweight titlist Chris Algieri ng United States kung saan ay nakatitiyak itong mananalo ang Pinoy boxer sa sagupaan sa Nobyembre 22 sa Macau, China.

Sa panayam ni boxing writer Robert Brown ng On The Ropes Boxing Show, iginiit ng tiyuhin ni WBC at WBA welterweight titlist Floyd Mayweather Jr. na masyadong hilaw si Algieri para kay Pacquiao at duda siya sa panalo nito kay Russian Ruslan Provodnikov.

“To be honest, I really don’t know (Algieri). I guess he has a title, right? I guess that could be the only reason, because he has a world title,” ani Mayweather na kilala sa bansag na Jazzy.

“Algieri, people act like he did such a spectacular with Provodnikov but I thought that fight could have easily went the other way.”

Para sa nakatatandang Mayweather, hindi maganda ang panalo ni Algieri kay Provodnikov na dalawang beses bumagsak sa 1st round pa lamang ang Amerikano kaya walang dapat ipag-alala si Pacquiao.

“I don’t think that he did anything spectacular, he didn’t show me anything that would make me think that Manny Pacquiao has anything to worry about,” giit ni Mayweather. “I think that it’s a great fight for Manny, it will put him back on top and back in the winning column.”

Pinaratangan dati ng trainer na gumagamit ng bawal na gamot si Pacquiao kaya natawa siya nang tanungin kung saan napunta ang lakas ng Pilipino na huling nakapagpatulog noong 2009 laban kay WBC middleweight champion ngayon na si Miguel Angel Cotto ng Puerto Rico.

“I’m sure we all know where his power went, but we won’t discuss that,” diin ni Mayweather. “I don’t think that he’ll knock out Algieri either, I just think that he’ll win. He might knock him out then. I think that has a huge bearing on the outcome of the fight and how the fight is gonna play out. I think that has a huge bearing on it.”
