Pinabulaanan ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang alegasyon na na-hack ang eGovPH app sa kasagsagan ng mga kilos-protesta noong Linggo, Setyembre 21.
Sa inilabas na salaysay ng DICT sa kanilang Facebook page, tiniyak nitong hindi nagkaroon ng data breach ang online app at nananatiling ligtas at ang mga impormasyon na nakapaloob dito alinsunod sa Data Privacy Act of 2012.
“We wish to clarify and reassure the public that the eGov PH App itself was not hacked or compromised. The incident involves one of the many third-party systems integrated with eGov PH—the eComplaints system—which is managed separately from the eGov PH App’s core infrastructure,” saad dito.
“At this time, there is no evidence of a data breach within the eGov PH App. All personal information stored within the eGov platform remains secure, encrypted, and protected by strict cybersecurity protocols in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and internationally recognized standards,” dagdag pa rito.

Sa kaugnay na balita, ibinahagi ni DICT Sec. Henry Aguda sa Malacañang press briefing nitong Lunes, Setyembre 22, na 19 government websites ang panandaliang na-hack sa mga nagdaang-araw, kung saan 15 dito ay mga local government units (LGU) websites.
Binanggit din niya na agarang nasolusyonan ng ahensya ang iba pang 1.4 milyong attempted breaches, at may isang kasalukuyang person of interest na iniimbestiga.
