Nagbahagi ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Davao ng mga larawan ng real-life “Ibong Adarna” na natagpuan umano sa kagubatan ng Mt. Apo.
“Yes, it's the "Ibong Adarna" but no, not in the Kingdom of Berbania. This strikingly beautiful bird was captured in the tropical forest of Mt. Apo,” anang DENR Davao sa kanilang Facebook post.
“This bird in astonishing hues is the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐧 (𝐻𝑎𝑟𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑠), one of the radiant birds that we can possibly lay our eyes on,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon sa DENR Davao, ang lalaking Philippine Trogon ay nagpapakita ng matingkad na mga kulay, habang ang mga babae ay nagtataglay ng “subdued shade” ng mustard-yallow sa katawan at olive-brown sa ulo.

“They feed on insects and fruits and shelters on tree hollows. Being reluctant to people, they found bliss in the darker portions of our forests,” anito.
Nanawagan naman ang DENR Davao na protektahan ang mga naturang klase ng ibon na “endemic” na umano sa bansa.
“This elusive, long-tailed avian is endemic to our country and is associated to the famous lore ‘Ibong Adarna’ as this 1941-film’s central figure,” anang DENR Davao.
“Please help protect and preserve these legends,” saad pa nito.
