Ibinasura ni Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 256 Judge Romeo Buenaventura ang petisyon ni dating Senator Leila de Lima na makapagpiyansa kaugnay sa kinakaharap na kasong may kinalaman sa illegal drugs.
“Wherefore, premises considered, the instant petitions and motions for bail are hereby denied,” ani Buenaventura.
Bukod kay De Lima, ibinasura rin ang kahalintulad na inihaing petisyon ng mga ibang akusado na sina Franklin Jesus Bucayu, Ronnie Dayan, Joenel Sanchez at Jose Adrian Dera.
“Considering the foregoing and after a careful review of the totality of prosecution's evidence, the Court is convinced that the evidence of guilt against all the above-named accused for the crime of conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading is strong," sabi pa ng korte.
Sa kasong inihain ng Department of Justice (DOJ) noong Pebrero 2017, inakusahan sina De Lima, Bucayu, Dayan, Sanchez, Dera, Wilfredo Elli at namayapang si Jaybee Sebastian ng conspiracy o pagsasabwatan upang magbenta ng illegal drugs.
Nakakulong si De Lima sa Camp Crame custodial center mula nang arestuhin noong Pebrero 2017.
