Nananatili pa ring mandatory ang pagsusuot ng face mask sa lahat ng tren ng Light Rail Transit (LRT), Metro Rail Transit (MRT), at Philippine National Railways (PNR).
Ito ang abiso ng isang opisyal ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) nitong Linggo, kasunod nang pagtaas muli ng mga kaso ng coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) sa bansa.
Banggit naman ni DOTr Assistant Secretary for Railways Jorjette Aquino, ipinatutupad sa loob ng mga tren ang pagsusuot ng face mask bilang preventive measure laban sa pagkalat ng sakit.
Mandatory rin aniya ang pagsusuot ng face masks sa loob ng mga istasyon ng LRT-1, LRT-2 at MRT-3, ngunit opsyonal naman sa mga istasyon ng PNR, dahil ang mga ito ay open air space.

“Our medical professionals in the railways sector stressed that the risk of COVID-19 transmission remains present in our trains as they are enclosed spaces,” ani Asec. Aquino, sa isang pahayag nitong Linggo.
“Security personnel deployed in all of our stations and trains will help ensure that the policy is strictly enforced,” dagdag pa ng opisyal.
