5 medalya, naiuwi ng Pinoy ice skaters sa HK meet
PINATUNAYAN ng Pinay ice skaters na kayang makipagsabayan sa sports na estranghero pa sa kamalayan nang nakararami.
Humakot ng dalawang silver at tatlong bronze ang Team Philippines, sa pangangasiwa ng Philippine Skating Union (PSU), sa katatapos na 2018 Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge sa Hong Kong.
Nakopo nina Hannela Reine Vicera (Basic Juvenile Girls G1) at Czerrine Ramos (Basic Pre-Novice Girls G3) ang silver medal sa torneo na nilahukan ng mga karibal bansa sa rehiyon.
Nakakuha naman ng bronze medal sina Celine Isabelle Tansipek (Advanced Pre-Novice Girls G2), Amanda Sophie Hernandez (Advanced Novice Girls G1) at Diane Gabrielle Panlilio (Elite Junior Ladies G1).
“We’re very proud and elated with their performances. This is part of our program in preparation for the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian Games next year.,” pahayag ni PSU president Josie Veguillas.
Ipinahayag naman ni PSU Executive Director at SM Ice Skating Rink manager Christopher Martin na patuloy ang pagsuporta ng asosasyon sa kampanya ng Team Philippines sa international competition.
“This coming Oct. 10, our very own Sofia Guidote is going to Yerevan, Armenia to compete in the ISU Junior Grand Prix - Armenian Cup,” sambit n Martin.
Pinasalamatna din ni Martin ang mga sumuporta sa katatapos na 2018 Philippine Open Short Track National Championships sa SM Ice Skating Rink sa Megamall na isinagawa matapos ang training camp na itinaguyod ng International Skating Union.
Ang mga matagumpay na batang skaters ay sina Kathryn Magno (Senior Ladies), Kevin Villanueva (Senior Men), Sun Phil Zablan (Junion A Men), Marc Gonzales (Junior B Boys), Xsandrie Guimba (Junior B Girls), Kayla Gonzales (Junior C Combined), at Hans Buemio (Junior D/E Combined ).
