BUTUAN CITY – Nasa 5,000 board feet ng illegally-sawn lauan lumbers at 489.9 cubic meters (878.76 bd. ft.) ng illegally-cut mixed dipterocarp round logs ang nasamsam sa magkahiwalay na anti-illegal logging operations ng mga operatiba ng Agusan del Sur at Agusan del Norte Police provincial Offices (PPOs), Special Action Force (SAF) at Municipal Police Station (MPSs) nitong linggo, iniulat kahapon ng police regional command.

Nasamsam din ng anti-illegal logging task force ng Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) sa Agusan ang sawmilling paraphernalias kabilang ang circular saw at sawmill engine.

Bukod sa nakuhang illegally-cut forest products, inaresto ng awtoridad ang dalawang suspek sa Sitio Mahaba, Purok 3, Barangay Baylo, San Luis, Agusan del Sur at sa Bgy. Bangonay, Jabonga, sa Agusan del Norte.

“The confiscated lumbers and round logs are now in custody of the DENR for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges against the suspects in court,” ayon kay PRO 13 Regional Director Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana.
