Dismayado si National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) Chief Political Consultant Prof. Jose Maria “Joma” Sison sa pagkansela ng administrasyong Duterte sa nakatakdang pagsisimula ng stand-down ceasefire sa Hunyo 21 at pagpapanumbalik ng formal talks sa peace negotiations sa Oslo, Norway sa Hunyo 28.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Sison na ang written agreements kaugnay sa mga nakatakdang okasyon ay nilagdaan mismo ng chairpersons ng Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) at NDFP negotiating panels, na sina Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello at Fidel V. Agcaoili, at sinaksihan ni Royal Norwegian special envoy Ambasador Idun Tevdt noong Hunyo 9, 2018.

“I urge the two negotiating panels to release to the public and to the press the written and signed agreements of June 9 and 10 signed by the chairmen of the GRP and NDFP negotiating panel and by the members of their respective special teams,” ani Sison.

Sa parehong pahayag, sinabi rin ni Sison na malinaw na ang GRP sa ilalim ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ay hindi interesado sa seryosong peace negotiations sa NDFP.

Ayon kay Sison, interesado lamang ang administrasyong Dutertes na mapasuko ang NDFP sa ilalim ng kunyariang indefinite ceasefire agreements at pagsira sa probisyon ng GRP-NDFP Joint Agreement on the Security and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG) na humihiling ng formal negotiations sa foreign neutral venue, at ilalagay ang mga negosasyon sa ilalim ng kontrol ng umuusbong na diktadurya at armadong tagasunod nito.

“Because the GRP under Duterte is obviously not interested in serious peace negotiations, the revolutionary forces and the people have no choice but to single-mindedly wage people’s war to achieve the national and social liberation of the Filipino people,” ani Sison.
