TINATAYANG 1,000 pulis at sundalo sa Negros Occidental ang makikinabang sa programang pabahay para sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP), na pinasinayaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Barangay Dos Hermanas sa Talisay City, nitong Linggo.
Pinangunahan ni Duterte ang paglalatag ng time capsule at groundbreaking ceremony, kasama sina AFP Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez, PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde, Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council Chairman Eduardo Del Rosario, National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Marcelino Escalada Jr., at Talisay City Mayor Neil Jesus Antonio Lizares III.
Tinawag na Vista Alegre Homes ang P1-bilyon pabahay na may sukat na 15 ektarya, na pagtatayuan ng 1,000 bahay na gagawin sa susunod na dalawang taon.
“This project is a testament of the government’s commitment to address the housing needs of our people, particularly those who risk their lives to serve our country with utmost courage and integrity,” bahagi ng talumpati ni Duterte.
Sinabi rin ng Pangulo na ang itatayong mga pabahay “are not just physical structures that will protect the beneficiaries from dangers of the outside world, but are homes where families can share memories, nurture values and hope for a brighter future with their loved ones.”
“To the brave men and women of the AFP and the PNP, I assure you that this administration will remain resolute in promoting your welfare,” pagpapatuloy ng pahayag.
“May (the) launching of this project inspire all of you to continue to advocate supporting government’s campaign and advocacies in uplifting the lives of our citizens and creating a safer and more secure nation for all Filipinos,” dagdag pa niya.
Samantala, sinabi naman ni Escalada na inaasahang matatapos ang Vista Alegre Homes project sa Marso 2019.
Ayon pa sa kanya, magiging “very affordable” ang bawat unit na nagkakahalaga lamang ng P1.1 milyon hanggang P1.2 milyon kung ikukumpara sa ibinebenta ng mga pribadong developers na umaabot ng halos P1.9 milyon hanggang P2.2 milyon.
Ngunit dahil na rin sa naging direktiba ng Pangulo, nagbigay ang NHA ng P100,000 diskuwento para sa bawat kawani na kukuhanin sa Office of the President, ayon kay Escalada.
“Easily they can pay the monthly amortization at P4,900 to P5,100,” dagdag pa niya.
Aniya, sa kabuuang 1000 bahay na itatayo, 450 ang ilalaan para sa militar, 450 para sa mga pulis, habang ang natitirang 100 bahay ay mapupunta sa mga kawani ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Corrections, at Bureau of Fire Protection.
Ang bawat isang duplex-type na unit ay may sukat na 80 metro kuwadrado at 60 metro kuwadrado na floor area.
Ang Vista Alegre Homes ay ikalimang proyektong pabahay ng NHA sa ilalim ng bagong AFP/PNP housing program.
Matatagpuan na naman ang apat na proyekto sa mga Davao City, Tarlac City, Lanao del Norte, at Bulacan.
