Determinado ang Kamara de Representantes na makakuha ng final resolution sa kasong impeachment laban kay Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno bago pa desisyunan ng kataas-taasang hukuman ang quo warranto case laban sa Punong Mahistrado.
Sinabi ni Mindoro Oriental Rep. Reynaldo Umali, chairman ng House Committee on Justice, na pagbobotohan ngayon ng House panel kung mayroon o walang probable cause upang patalsikin sa puwesto si Sereno.
Nilinaw ni Umali na plenary voting marahil ang tinukoy ni Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez nang inihayag nito sa mga mamamahayag kahapon na walang mangyayaring botohan ngayong Huwebes.

“We will vote on probable cause tomorrow. Maybe the Speaker meant plenary voting when he said that there will no voting tomorrow,” paliwanag ni Umali.
Tinuligsa rin ni Umali ang oposisyon sa pagpapahaging na sinasadyang ipagpaliban ng mayorya sa Kamara ang resolusyon sa impeachment case na inihain ni Atty. Larry Gadon laban kay Sereno.
“It’s the opposite of what we are doing. We want to resolve this issue as fast as we can but we have to be very cautious in deciding on every aspect of the impeachment process in the name of justice and fair play,” depensa ni Umali.
