Kinontra ng prosekusyon ang mosyon sa Sandiganbayan ni dating senator Jinggoy Estrada na pansamantalang makalabas ng kulungan para dumalo sa ika-80 kaarawan ng amang si dating Pangulo at ngayo’y Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito-Estrada sa Abril 19.
Sa pahayag ng Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) ng Office of the Ombudsman na isinumite sa 5th Division ng anti-graft court, iginiit nito na maaari namang masubaybayan ng dating senador ang pagdaraos ng kaarawan ng ama sa tulong ng teknolohiya kahit siya ay nasa loob ng kulungan.
“It may not be amiss to mention that Estrada’s physical presence is not necessarily required for the preparation of his father’s birthday… If accused Estrada truly desires to have a hand in organizing his father’s birthday, he may supervise the same within the premises of his detention place, taking into account the advanced technology today,” saad sa argumento ng prosekusyon.
Nakapiit ngayon si Estrada sa Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center dahil sa kasong plunder at graft kaugnay sa pork barrel fund scam. (Rommel P. Tabbad)
