Walang katotohanan ang sinabi ni Department of Justice (DoJ) Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II na plano nina Senators Antonio Trillanes IV, Francis Pangilinan at Leila de Lima na bigyan ng “legislative immunity” ang dalawang sinibak na opisyal ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) kapalit ng testimonya ng mga ito laban sa kanya.
Ito ang iginiit ni Trillanes at tinawag na “paranoid” at takot sa katotohanan ang kalihim sa pagsasabing bibigyan nila ng legislative immunity ang mga dating BI associate commissioner na sina Al Argosino at Michael Robles, na kapwa ka-brod ni Aguirre at ni Pangulong Duterte sa Lex Talliones Fraternity ng San Beda Law School.
“Aguirre is being haunted by the truth that’s why he is getting paranoid,” ani Trillanes.
“Aguirre should stick to the issue. There are so many holes in his testimony. Why did he meet with suspects in a case inside a hotel in the first place? Why did Aguirre invite his frat brother, Argosino, to the meeting instead of Commissioner (Jaime) Morente?,” sabi ni Trillanes.

“Before he left that meeting, why did he say to Argosino, ‘Ikaw na ang bahala’? Why did he tell Argosino not to coordinate with (BI Intel Chief Charles) Calima? Why did he tell (Wally) Sombero to coordinate with Argosino and not Calima? How did he know the amount of the supposed bribe of 50 to 100 million pesos as early as Dec. 1 when nobody supposedly told him about it? Why did Argosino ask 100 million from Sombero if his frat brother/boss, Aguirre did not approve of it? If Aguirre wasn’t in on the extortion/bribery, why would Sombero give P50 million to Argosino when he knows that Argosino doesn’t haven’t the authority or power to release the Chinese workers?” tanong ni Trillanes.
Depensa naman ni Aguirre, hindi niya sinabihan sina Argosino at Robles na ‘sila na ang bahala’ sa panunuhol ni Sombero mula kay Jack Lam.
Aniya, ang nagsabi ng ganoon ay si Trillanes, na tinawag niyang “sundalong kanin” at binatikos niya dahil sa mistula umanong abogado o detective kung magsalita.
“Paniwala ko ay nais lamang nila (Trillanes, De Lima at Pangilinan) akong madiin sa isyu ng suhulan para makaganti sila sa ‘kin,” ani Aguirre.
Kinuwestiyon din kahapon ng kalihim ang aniya’y pagkabigo ni De Lima na mapansin ang mga ilegal na online gambling activity ni Lam noong kalihim pa ng DoJ ang senadora. (Leonel Abasola at Beth Camia)
