ASAM ni Cebuano pride Joey Canoy na mapabilag sa listahan ng mga Pinoy champion sa pakikipagtuos kontra dating world champion Hekkie Budler para sa International Boxing Organization (IBO) light flyweight title bout sa Pebrero 4 sa Emperor’s Palace sa Gauteng, South Africa.

“He has a huge chance because of his speed. But I still want to develop more his power because I want him to get a sure win with a knockout,” pahayag ni Brix Flores, coach ni Canoy.

Kumpiyansa si Flores na malalagpasan ni Canoy ang ratsada ni Budler, dating kampeon sa World Boxing Association (WBA) mini-flyweight title.

“He has had a long preparation. He started last November. He has also had a lot of sparring in the gym,” pahayag ni Flores.

Ang 23-anyos na si Canoy ay galing sa matikas na sixth round technical knockout win laban kay Toto Landero, gayundin ang fourth round stoppage laban kay journeyman Fabio Marfa.
