Minaliit ng Malacañang kahapon ang ulat sa pahayagan na gumawa umano ng “blueprint to oust” laban kay Pangulong Duterte si dating US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip S. Goldberg.
Nagpahayag ng kumpiyansa ang isang opisyal ng Palasyo na mabibigo ang anumang pagtatangkang patalsikin sa puwesto si Duterte dahil sinusuportahan pa rin siya ng mga tao.
Sinabi rin ni Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella na itinanggi na ng U.S. Department of State ang pakikibahagi sa anumang plano na tanggalin sa puwesto si Duterte.
“As far as I know, as far as I have been informed the State Department has denied anything of this sort and has denied participation of anything of this sort,” sabi ni Abella sa mga reporter sa press briefing sa Malacañang.

“As we can see, you know, the President continues to enjoy the trust of the people on the ground... (people) appreciate what he is doing,” dagdag pa niya.
Binigyang-diin din ni Abella na “according to the article, whoever attempts this will find it difficult.”
Nauna nang nagsalita si Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar na ang alegasyon sa naturang plano para paalisin sa puwesto si Duterte “remains part and parcel of a larger conspiracy theory, as no one will admit ownership in it.”
Sinabi rin niya na si Goldberg ay umalis na sa Pilipinas, “So therefore, we no longer have to deal with him.”
Bagamat minaliit ng Palasyo ang usapin, sineryoso naman ito ng Kamara na nagsabing magsasagawa ito ng imbestigasyon tungkol sa umano’y destabilization plot laban sa Pangulo.
“The allegations in the article are very serious and require our full attention and vigilance in light of the tendency of the US to intervene, contrary to international law, with the sovereign and internal affairs of an independent nation-state,” sabi ni House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
