Napag-alaman na sa pamamagitan ng kanilang Facebook account at iba pang social media platform nag-uusap-usap ang mga miyembro ng terror cell na nagplanong pasabugin ang US Embassy sa Maynila noong nakaraang buwan.
Ayon kay Senior Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel, director ng Manila Police District (MPD), nalaman nila ang nasabing estratehiya ng mga nahuling suspek nang maaresto nila ang ikatlong suspek na kinilalang si Mohammad Jumao-as na gumagamit ng alyas na “Modie”.
“We found out that at least two of the five suspects involved have Facebook account. They have been communicating through Facebook but we are still conducting investigation as to their messages there,” pahayag ni Coronel sa Balita sa isang panayam sa Camp Crame matapos iharap sa media ang suspek.
“We are still verifying if the other people involved are just using aliases in Facebook,” dagdag niya.

Ngunit sinabi rin ni Coronel na sa pamamagitan din ng Facebook nahuli si Jumao-as sa isang ospital sa Bulacan kung saan siya ay nagtatrabaho bilang X-Ray technician.
“His name was already part of our persons of interest at the time we were conducting our operations. Part of our investigation process we made is checking the social media, they are using Facebook and other platforms to disseminate their information that is why we are fortunate that he is registered as a user,” ani Coronel.
Noong araw na naaresto si Jomao-as, noong Disyembre 3, sinabi ng opisyal na hinahakot na ng suspek ang lahat ng kanyang gamit ospital.
Sinubukan din umanong tumakas ni Jomao-as sakay sa kanyang motorsiklo ngunit nakorner siya ng awtoridad.
